Improve Your Google Ranking – Just Add Video?
Videos stand a much better chance than a text page of being shown on the first results page of a Google blended search, according to Nate Elliot with Forrester Research. Their research shows, “…any given video in the index stands about a 50 times better chance of appearing on the first page of results than any given text page in the index.”
But it’s not enough to slap videos on your site and expect your ranking to improve. You also need to make sure the videos are optimized. Elliot also states, “So few interactive marketers focus on video optimization that most of the videos in Google’s index aren’t very well optimized — so if you optimize your videos well, your changes of success will increase even further.”
As seen from a recent Google search below, clearly the producer of “Crazy Derrick Rose Mix!!” optimized his video properly on YouTube helping it rank higher than any ESPN page on this Rookie of the Year.
