Google Wave

Google has announced that it will be releasing 100,000 invites to it’s new real-time communication platform titled Google Wave.

If you haven’t heard much about Google Wave, one of Google’s engineers sums it up best.

Email is the most popular way to communicate today on the internet, which is remarkable, because email was invented more than 40 years ago, before the internet, before the web… And it was done without the experience, sms, instant messaging, blogs, message boards, forums, social networks, wikis, and collaborative work environments.  We asked ourselves the question, “What might email look like if it was invented today?”  Google Wave is our attempt.

Texas Stadium – Battle of the Media Titans

I’m not a big Dallas Cowboys fan.  But having shot a video with Hall-of-Famer Terry Bradshaw on the old Texas Stadium field, I agree the Cowboys needed a home.  With it’s 100,000 person capacity, its a  monument to how important football is in Texas.

Technology, Surveillance and Security

My wife met a friend for dinner last night. She had a nice time catching up; until the check came. While trying to settle the bill, my wife realized that her wallet was missing, along with her ID, bank card and a couple of credit cards. Within an hour someone had picked up a nice new TV from a big box electronics retailer. This triggered frantic calls to a number of financial institutions. Sometime during the process of canceling the bank card a few hundred dollars (!) in merchandise was acquired from a drug store (that had to be liquor, right?)
