The Holiday Card

Now that ‘Holiday Season ‘08’ is in the bag, it’s probably as good a time as any to wax philosophical about our holiday E-card. This year’s concept stemmed from a colorful conversation that included a retelling of some of the more infamous moments from Manning parties past, as well as a discussion about office party clichés. With a little Photoshop magic and a few hundred hours of work, what emerged was a bizarre virtual party that combined celebrities, pop-culture references, employee debauchery, and more than a little alcohol. But we got there aided by using content that was ‘borrowed’.

Only 15 More E-card Days Til Christmas

It’s early December, so more and more agencies are checking their list, checking it twice to make sure they have everyone’s addresses to send their holiday ecards. It’s definitely the most green way to send holiday greetings.

Since Manning’s elves are still hard at work on theirs, we thought we’d take a trip down memory lane and look at a few ecards of Christmas past.

This e-card “Hand Bell Hero,” was created by VML. Needless to say, it was inspired by the video game Guitar Hero.

Another classic is the opportunity to ink your own message on Santa created by the RG/A.

And last, but not least, is this re-tooling of the Christmas Classic “It’s A Wonderful Life” by World Wide Wadio called “An Advertising Parable for the Holidays.” Clearly, their clients have a good sense of humor.
